Travelling

I have been tardy in posting the last two weeks as I’ve been on the road…I feel so lucky that I’m an entrepreneur which allows me to work remotely from really anywhere. Sure I am in town and can work with clients face to face most of the time, however, I have such amazing clients that we can also meet via Google Chat for example, still getting our meetings in and moving forward on projects.

All of that being said, I was recently in Chicago (I’ve never been before) and thought I’d share a little bit from my trip.  One day I took a great walk down the Magnificent Mile and beyond, visiting ‘the bean,’ Chicago Riverwalk and finding a Christmas tree and beautiful lights along the way.  Take a walk with me and get a taste for this amazing city – oh and I almost forgot, I had a fantastic time at the Chicago Blackhawks game – they sure have some passionate fans, what a great arena to take in a game!

Maybe my trip will inspire you to travel to this great city one day – I know I will need to go back as I definitely didn’t see and do everything I wanted to (or try enough of the restaurants!).

And before I sign-off I would be remiss if I didn’t mention a few delicious meals I had…
1) The Scout (http://www.thescoutchicago.com/) – went there to take in some Sunday Night Football and I just have to say they are serving some pretty fantastic food there too. Two of my favs were the Tuna Tartare & Margherita Flatbread w/ Prosciutto Chips.
2) RPM Italian Restaurant (http://rpmitalian.com/) – three things: Lobster Caprese (um, whoever decided to put all of these ingredients together, genius), Maine Lobster Ravioli and Bill’s Chocolate Budino (salted caramel and cocoa nibs, need I say more?). This place has a lively atmosphere too which just added to the evening.
3) Soupbox (http://soupbox.com/) – Soup for the soul (plus if you’re vegan, vegetarian or celiac there are options for you too!). I LOVE soup so walking into a place for a quick bite that has at least 10 fresh-made soups was heaven to me. Then the icing on the cake? Grilled cheese made to order with your choice of bread and cheese. Yes please! I had the Fresh Broccoli & White Cheddar Soup & a Grilled Cheese on Sourdough.

Last comment on my foodie favs from this trip – you may be thinking ‘how did she not try out any deep dish pizza?!?’ – I am saving it for my next trip 🙂

Until next time…

Jess
